Defensive end Dion Jordan was a no-show at the Miami Dolphins’ first workout of the year on Monday.
Why Jordan did not attend the voluntary workout was not clear. The former third overall pick in the draft struggled to adapt to the pro game since being selected in 2013 out of Oregon.
In two seasons, he has just one start and three sacks. More troubling for the Dolphins, Jordan was suspended for six games last season after twice failing drug tests. One more failed drug test could mean a long suspension.
Coach Joe Philbin still sees Jordan as a defensive end able to dominate and put pressure on the quarterback. Others in the organization see Jordan as a linebacker.
