Wide receiver Allen Robinson signed a four-year, $3.5 million rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, becoming the eighth member of the team’s 2014 NFL Draft class under contract.

Robinson, whose deal included a $873,000 signing bonus, missed time during the organized team activities and minicamp this spring with a right hamstring injury.

“I’ve been doing some running and stuff, so it’s getting a lot better,” Robinson said. “I should be ready for training camp.”

Robinson was drafted No. 61 overall in the second round out of Penn State. He was the second wide receiver picked by the Jaguars. Marqise Lee, who was chosen 39th overall, remains unsigned after also missing considerable time after the draft with an ankle injury.

In three years at Penn State, Robinson had 177 receptions for 2,474 yards and 17 touchdowns, including 97 catches for 1,432 yards and six touchdowns last season.

“It was real exciting,” Robinson said of signing. “It took a little bit of time, but we finally have that done and out of the way. It’s just a breath of fresh air to get that out of the way.”

Robinson could contribute right away and even start for the Jaguars this season along with Lee and four-year veteran Cecil Shorts III.

“That’s been a lot of fun getting around these guys, just learning from each other and trying to move forward,” Robinson said, according to Jaguars.com. “As a group, we have a lot of young guys on the team and I think that’s what makes our culture a good one.

“Coach Gus (Bradley) is always preaching for us young guys to get better, and continue to get better and push each other, and that’s what makes this a great program.”

Among the Jaguars’ signees from the May draft class are quarterback Blake Bortles and guard Brandon Linder.
