Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was released from jail at about 1:55 ET Monday, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Irsay, 54, was jailed following his arrest in Carmel, Ind., Sunday night on one misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated and four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Irsay was pulled over at 11:41 p.m. in the 13000 block of Horseferry Road in Carmel, an Indianapolis suburb, Lt. Joe Bickel of the Carmel Police Department said in a press release.

Bickel said Irsay was driving at a slow rate of speed, stopped in the roadway and failed to signal a turn before police pulled him over at 11:41 p.m.

“During the course of the investigation, Irsay subsequently failed several roadside field sobriety tests,” Bickel said.

Several prescription drugs were found in pill bottles, according to police. The drugs were allegedly not associated with any prescription bottles in the vehicle.

Irsay was booked into Hamilton County Jail at Noblesville at 3:07 a.m. Monday. His bail was set at $22,500.

“We are gathering information at this time regarding last night’s incident involving Jim Irsay,” the Colts said in a statement. “The team will issue additional statements when the facts are sorted and we are aware of the next steps to this process. Many fans have reached out to express their concern and we appreciate their support.”

Irsay will be subject to the NFL’s personal conduct policy if convicted. Based on recent comments lashing out against drunk driving and Irsay’s position as a vocal and visible franchise leader, commissioner Roger Goodell will likely act swiftly and harshly if the charges stand up in court.

Irsay said last year he has not had a drink in more than 15 years. He also said that he once had an addiction to pain killers.
