Running back James Starks re-signed with the Green Bay Packers, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported Monday night.

Earlier Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter had reported that Starks was set to sign a two-year contract with the Packers.

Starks ran for 493 yards last season, making him the team’s second-leading rusher behind Eddie Lacy, who rushed for 1,178 yards and was named to the Pro Bowl.

In four NFL seasons, Starks has rushed for 1,427 yards with five touchdowns.

Starks had shown some interest in the Pittsburgh Steelers and was expected to visit the Steelers. But apparently Starks felt more comfortable in Green Bay.

The Packers also have running backs Johnathan Franklin and DuJuan Harris returning.
