Emergency crews searching for JaJuan Dawson recovered a body on Tuesday that is believed to be the former Houston Texans wide receiver.

Dawson was boating Sunday at a lake near Dallas when he apparently fell from an inflatable tube pulled by a boat.

The 37-year-old Dawson was reported missing around 6:30 p.m. at Lake Lavon, north of Dallas. There were three children and two other adults on the boat at the time that Dawson went missing.

According to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, divers found the body on Monday evening. An autopsy was scheduled to help determine the cause of death.

Dawson never resurfaced after going overboard, according to witnesses. He was not wearing a life jacket during the outing with his family on the rented boat.

The Cleveland Browns drafted Dawson in the third round out of Tulane in 2000. He played in 16 games for the Browns during the next two seasons, scoring twice on only 31 receptions.

He joined the Houston Texans in 2002, started 14 games and had 21 receptions.

Dawson briefly was a member of the Indianapolis Colts in 2003 but never saw playing time, ending his career with 52 catches for 664 yards and two touchdowns.
