The Cincinnati Bengals signed free agent cornerback R.J. Stanford on Monday.
Stanford played the first 13 games of last season with the Miami Dolphins before an ankle injury ended his season Dec. 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He ranked tied for sixth among the Dolphins with five special teams tackles. In 2012, he played all 16 games for the Dolphins and had 15 tackles on defense and six on special teams.
The Carolina Panthers took Stanford in the seven-round of the 201 draft. In 41 NFL games, he has 27 tackles on defense, 12 tackles on special teams and one interception.
