After missing on their priority targets at tight end last week, the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday signed Jacob Tamme and Tony Moeaki.

Tamme spent the past three seasons with the Denver Broncos, and Moeaki was with new coach Dan Quinn in Seattle last season.

“Excited to join the Atlanta Falcons! Looking forward to meeting my teammates & starting the process of working to win a Championship,” Tamme wrote on Twitter (@JacobTamme).

The Falcons made offers in free agency to Niles Paul of the Washington Redskins and Lance Kendricks of the St. Louis Rams, but both returned to those teams.

Tamme played six seasons with quarterback Peyton Manning, including his first three in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. His most productive season was 2010, with 67 receptions for 631 yards and four touchdowns.

Tamme was drafted by the Colts in the fourth round in 2008 out of Kentucky. He spent four seasons in Indianapolis before joining the Denver Broncos and Manning in 2012. Tamme has caught 178 passes for 1,703 yards with 10 touchdowns in 107 games. Last season, he saw action in 15 games, logging 109 yards and two touchdowns on 14 receptions.

Moeaki joined the Seahawks at midseason in 2014 and finished with eight catches for 134 yards and a touchdown. The score came against the Kansas City Chiefs, who drafted Moeaki in the third round in 2010, when Scott Pioli was the general manager. Pioli is the assistant general manager with the Falcons now.

Injuries have limited Moeaki to 36 games in five seasons. He has 88 catches for 1,143 yards and five touchdowns.

The Falcons failed to replace retired Tony Gonzalez last season, producing a total of 33 receptions for 241 yards from their tight ends. Levin Toilolo was the primary option with 31 receptions but struggled with drops and is viewed as more of a blocker in offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan’s offense.
