The Portland Trail Blazers waived center Brendan Haywood on Thursday after he was acquired in a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier in the week.
Haywood came to the Blazers on Monday along with guard Mike Miller and two future second-round draft picks in exchange for cash considerations.
The Blazers parted with the 35-year-old Haywood before his $10.5 million salary for 2015-16 became guaranteed on Saturday.
Haywood played limited minutes for the Cavs in 2014-15 after missing the 2013-14 season with a stress fracture in a foot.
