The Philadelphia 76ers picked up veteran forward Gerald Wallace and also draft considerations and cash from the Golden State Warriors on Friday in exchange for power forward Jason Thompson.

Earlier in the day, the 76ers announced that forward Richaun Holmes signed a multiyear rookie contract with the team.

Wallace, a first-round draft pick in 2001, has spent 14 years in the NBA and averaged 1.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.44 steals in 832 regular-season games. He also has played in 33 playoff games.

The 33-year-old Wallace made the NBA All-Defense first team and was named an All-Star in 2010.

The 29-year-old Thompson has career averages of 9.4 points and 6.9 rebounds in 541 regular-season games, including 405 starts. He was traded to the 76ers on July 9 in a deal with the Sacramento Kings that brought Nik Stauskas to Philadelphia.

Holmes was selected by the 76ers with the 37th overall pick in the June draft.

The 6-foot-10 Holmes appeared in all three games for the Sixers in the 2015 Utah Jazz Summer League, averaging 10 points and five rebounds in 17 minutes per game.

The 21-year-old Holmes spent his final three collegiate seasons at Bowling Green and was named Mid-American Conference defensive player of the year and first team All-MAC as a senior. He averaged 14.8 points and eight rebounds last season.
