Veteran point guard Andre Miller reached a contract agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, according to reports.

The 39-year-old Miller visited the team’s headquarters earlier in the day and then worked out an undisclosed deal.

The Timberwolves were in the market for an experienced point guard. Minnesota starting point guard Ricky Rubio is returning from ankle surgery and Tyus Jones, the other point guard on the roster, is a rookie.

Miller has played 16 seasons in the NBA. Last season, he split time with Washington and Sacramento, averaging 3.6 points and 2.8 assists in 51 games for the Wizards and 5.7 points and 4.7 assists in 30 games for the Kings.

Miller’s career averages are 12.8 points and 6.7 assists per game.
