Since being selected second overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat, Michael Beasley has done very little in the league.

In six seasons, he has played for four teams and has a career average of a little more than 13 points per game.

On Wednesday, Beasley got a chance with a handful of other free agents to impress the Los Angeles Lakers, who missed out on signing Carmelo Anthony in July.

The 25-year-old Kansas State product, who couldn’t stick a second time with Heat last season, worked out for the Lakers for a second time, USA Today reported.

Also working out Wednesday were centers Dexter Pittman and Greg Stiemsma as well as guards Toney Douglas, Ben Hansbrough and Malcolm Lee.

The Lakers only have 13 players on their roster, which means there are two spots available.

After being drafted by Miami, Beasley played for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns before returning to the Heat last season.

Beasley has been dogged by off-court problems, including an August 2013 arrest on suspicion of marijuana.
