Free agent guard Monta Ellis agreed to a four-year, $44 million contract with the Indiana Pacers.

The deal can be signed July 9, when NBA rules permit free agents to officially complete new contracts, and includes an early termination option that would allow Ellis to become a free agent after three seasons.

Ellis turns 30 the week the 2015-16 season begins and led the Dallas Mavericks with 18.9 points per game last season.

Ellis has averaged 19.3 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 678 career games and was considered a priority for the Sacramento Kings.
