Paul George returned to practice with the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, his first with the team since he was sidelined by a compound leg fracture in a Team USA scrimmage in August.

“It felt good. It felt really good,” he said Thursday afternoon.

The All-NBA forward has not played in a game this season and was projected to be out until April.

George, who said he is up to 235 pounds from 220 last season, said he would like to be back by mid-March.

“I do feel stronger on the court. I’ve put on a lot of strength in the weight room,” he said Thursday.

The Pacers have not cleared George to play in a game and head coach Frank Vogel repeated there is no rush to push him back into action.

“I’m hopeful, but a lot has to happen before then,” he said.

During the All-Star Break, George said.
