Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson completed the NBA’s concussion protocol and was cleared Tuesday to play in opening game of the NBA Finals.

The Warriors open the best-of-seven series against the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James on Thursday night in Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

Thompson suffered a concussion last week during a collision in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals against the Houston Rockets. He practiced for the second straight day with the Warriors in preparation for Thursday night’s game.

“I feel great, honestly,” Thompson told reporters after practice and before the results of the concussion tests were announced. “These past two days, I feel like I’ve got my wind back. Tomorrow is the final tuneup. Just trying to stop the nerves and anxiousness, or keep them down as much as possible.”

Thompson is the team’s second leading scorer, averaging 21.7 points per game during the regular season and 19.7 in the playoffs.

The Warriors are playing in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1975.
