The Dallas Mavericks confirmed Tuesday that All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki signed a new contract with the team.

The Mavericks did not release details of the contract, but it was believed to be a three-year deal worth $30 million, according to multiple sources.

The 36-year-old Nowitzki made $22.72 million in the final year of a four-year, $80 million deal he signed in 2010. He has played all 16 of his NBA seasons with Dallas, leading the Mavs to the 2011 title.

Last year, the 12-time All-Star averaged 21.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Nowitzki is one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, averaging 22.5 points during the regular season and 25.6 points in 135 playoff games. With Nowitzki leading the way, the Mavericks have played in two NBA Finals and three Western Conference Finals.

This past season, Nowitzki moved into the NBA’s top 10 in career scoring, passing notables such as Jerry West, Dominique Wilkins and Reggie Miller.
