The Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday traded their third-string center Hasheem Thabeet to Philadelphia for a $1.25 million trade exception. The Thunder also will receive a heavily protected 2015 second-round draft pick.

The 76ers are expected to waive Thabeet, according to multiple sources. Thabeet became expendable this past season with the development of center Steven Adams.

Thabeet, 7-foot-3, 263 pounds, averaged 1.2 points and 1.7 rebounds last season for the Thunder. He was the No. 2 overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2009 and is considered one of the bigger draft busts in recent history.
