The Orlando Magic acquired guard Shabazz Napier and cash considerations from the Miami Heat in exchange for a conditional 2016 second round draft pick.
Magic general manager Rob Hennigan made the announcement Monday after the story was reported the day before.
The move removes Napier’s $1.3 million from Miami’s books and could save the Heat about $4.5 million in salary and luxury taxes, according to ESPN.com

Napier, 24, underwent sports hernia surgery on April 1. He returned to action this summer and scored 14 points and added six assists in Miami’s final game in the Orlando Pro Summer League. He also averaged 18 points in three games during summer league play in Las Vegas.
As a college senior in 2014, Napier led the University of Connecticut to the NCAA Tournament title and was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player. He also part of UConn’s 2011 NCAA championship team.
Originally selected by Charlotte in the first round (24th overall) in 2014, his rights were acquired by Miami on draft night.
