Atlanta Hawks free agent DeMarre Carroll and the Toronto Raptors agreed to a four-year, $60 million contract on Wednesday.

Carroll announced the deal on his personal Instagram account.

Carroll is regarded as one of the best wing defenders in the NBA. He found his offensive game with the Hawks last season, posting career bests in scoring (12.9 points per game) and 3-point shooting (40 percent).

He turns 29 on July 27, and joins a solid backcourt of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry in Toronto.

The Hawks could also lose their other top free agent, forward Paul Milsap, who was entertaining similar offers from the Hawks and Orlando Magic (four years, $80 million).

Atlanta did add one player Wednesday, agreeing to a trade with the San Antonio Spurs for forward Tiago Splitter.
