The Atlanta Hawks signed forward DeMarre Carroll, the team announced.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Carroll, 27, had career bests last season with 6.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 16.8 minutes per game for the Utah Jazz. He also started a career-high 12 games.
“DeMarre is a great fit for our program,” general manager Danny Ferry said in a statement. “He is an unselfish, highly competitive player. His versatility in defending multiple positions will make him a valuable contributor to our basketball team.”
Carroll also played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets during his four-year NBA career. He played collegiately at Missouri.
The Hawks also requested waivers on guard DeShawn Stevenson.
