Atlanta Hawks guard/forward Kyle Korver underwent surgery on Wednesday night to repair the ligament damage in his right ankle suffered during the Western Conference finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Hawks also announced that guard Shelvin Mack sustained a separated right shoulder during the fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s Game 4 against the Cavaliers in Cleveland that will require surgery next week.

Dr. Martin O’Malley performed Korver’s surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

The team said in a statement that Korver’s expected recovery time is about three months after a period of “rest, treatment and rehabilitation.”

Korver was injured in Game 2 against the Cavaliers when he collided with Cleveland guard Matthew Dellavedova late in the third quarter during a scramble for a loose ball.

Korver averaged 12.1 points and shot 49.2 percent percent on 3-pointers during the regular season. In the playoffs, he was averaging 11.1 points and shooting 39.1 percent from 3-point range before the injury.

The Hawks’ season ended Tuesday night when the Cavaliers completed a 4-0 sweep in the best-of-seven series.
