The San Francisco Giants reached agreement with reliever Sergio Romo on a two-year, $15 million contract, according to multiple reports Wednesday.
The Giants decided to bring Romo back after he lost the closer’s job last season and became a setup man.
The right-hander, who has been with the Giants during their three World Series championship seasons since 2010, finished 2014 by giving up just two runs and three walks while striking out 23 in his last19 1/3 innings covering 23 outings.
In 64 games last season, he finished with a 6-4 record and 23 saves with 3.72 ERA. The 31-year-old has 78 career saves and a 2.51 ERA.
