The San Diego Padres placed outfielder Carlos Quentin on the 15-day disabled list as part of a series of moves made by the club Monday.
Quentin has been dealing with a sore left knee.
San Diego also activated second baseman Jedd Gyorko from the DL, recalled left-handed pitcher Jason Lane from Triple-A El Paso and optioned infielder Brooks Conrad to El Paso.
Quentin has also struggled in batting just .177 with four home runs and 18 RBIs in 130 at-bats.
Gyorko, who has been out nearly two months with plantar fasciitis, is batting only .162 with five home runs and 24 RBIs in 204 at-bats this season.
Conrad is just 3-for-30 in 13 games with San Diego.
