Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Chris Stewart came off the 15-day disabled list Friday, and the Pirates optioned catcher Tony Sanchez to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Stewart missed the start of the season with a hamstring injury, which he suffered on March 9.
He hit .333 (6-for-18) with two RBIs in five rehab games at Double-A Altoona and Indianapolis.
Sanchez went 3-for-8 (.375) in three games for the Pirates.
