The Oakland Athletics placed left-hander Drew Pomeranz on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a sprained left AC joint.
Pomeranz (2-3, 4.40 ERA) left his start in the fifth inning Monday night with shoulder tightness.
The Athletics recalled right-hander Arnold Leon from Triple-A Nashville, where Leon is 0-2 with a 4.26 ERA in five starts for the Sounds. He made a major league debut April 22, pitching one inning against the Los Angeles Angels.
Meanwhile, left fielder Coco Crisp is day-to-day with neck tightness. He departed in the fourth inning Tuesday night after feeling discomfort and will remain under evaluation.
