The New York Yankees agreed to terms on a one-year contract with right-handed pitcher Esmil Rogers, thus avoiding arbitration.
The two sides agreed to a deal Tuesday, reportedly worth $1.48 million with $750,000 guaranteed.
Rogers posted a 4.68 ERA in 25 innings after being claimed off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays by the Yankees late in the season. Overall, he was 2-0 with a 5.72 ERA.
The Yankees also non-tendered left-hander David Huff, right-hander Jose Vicente Campos and outfielder Slade Heathcott, making them free agents.
Huff was 4-1 with a 3.36 ERA over 59 innings with the Yankees in 2014. Heathcott was a first-round pick (29th overall) by the Yankees in 2009. Heathcott and Campos spent the season in the minors.
