Left-hander Chris Capuano re-signed with the New York Yankees on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old will receive a one-year, $5 million contract, according to a CBSSports.com report.

After beginning the 2014 season with the Boston Red Sox, Capuano was released on July 1 and picked up by Colorado but never pitched in the majors for the Rockies before the Yankees purchased his contract on July 24.

In 12 starts for the Yankees last year, Capuano posted a 2-3 record with a 4.25 ERA.

In 28 relief appearances with the Red Sox last season, Capuano had a 4.55 ERA.

Capuano could be part of a Yankees starting rotation that includes Masahiro Tanaka, CC Sabathia, Michael Pineda and David Phelps. New York also has Ivan Nova projected to return from elbow surgery in May or June.
