Right-hander Tim Peterson, a minor-league pitcher in the New York Mets’ organization, was suspended Tuesday for 80 days after a positive test for the performance-enhancing drug Trenbolone.

The suspension will begin at the start of the 2015 season. Peterson is currently on the roster of Class A Port Lucie in the Florida State League.

The 23-year-old Peterson moved up to Double-A last season after being drafted in 2012 out of Kentucky in the 20th round.

In 122 career innings in the minor leagues, Peterson has a 4.22 ERA with 32 walks and 143 strikeouts.
