Major League Baseball is expected to announce that the Miami Marlins will host the 2017 All-Star Game, the Miami Herald reported.

It would be the first All-Star game held in the state of Florida as neither the Marlins nor the Tampa Bay Rays hosted one yet.

Miami came close to hosting the All-Star Game in the past after initially being awarded the 2000 game, but Atlanta ended up hosting the event that year.

Then, after opening their new stadium in 2012, the Marlins were expecting to host the 2015 All-Star Game. However, this year’s All-Star Game ended up going to Cincinnati.

San Diego is scheduled to host the game in 2016.

The Washington Nationals have not hosted an All-Star Game since coming to D.C. in 2008, so they could also be considered as a host possibility for the near future.
