The New York Yankees dealt left-hander Manny Banuelos to the Atlanta Braves for pitchers David Carpenter and Chasen Shreve, according to a report Thursday.

Once a top prospect, the 23-year-old Banuelos was sidelined for the entire 2013 season after Tommy John surgery on his left elbow in October 2012. Last season, he pitched in a combined 76 2/3 innings in Class A, Double-A and Triple-A and had a 2-3 record with a 4.11 ERA.

The 29-year-old Carpenter pitched out of the Braves’ bullpen the past two seasons. The right-hander had a 6-4 record with three saves and 19 holds while posting a 3.54 ERA in 61 innings last season. He has a 11-10 career record with four saves in four seasons for the Braves, Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros.

The 24-year-old Shreve pitched in his first major league game for the Braves in July. The left-hander worked 12 1/3 innings and had a 0-0 record with a 0.73 ERA. He spent most of his season in the minors and had a 5-3 record with a 2.67 ERA for Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett.
