The Toronto Blue Jays traded outfielder Anthony Gose to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for second base prospect Devon Travis, Canada’s Sportsnet reported Wednesday.

Gose, 24, hit .226 with two homers in 94 games for Toronto. With Detroit, Gose, a left-handed hitter, may platoon in center field with right-handed hitting Rajai Davis.

Travis, 23, was rated the Tigers’ top prospect by Baseball America. He hit .298 with 10 home runs and 16 steals at Double-A Erie this past season.

The Blue Jays are likely to use Dalton Pompey in center field. He hit .317 with three minor-league teams in 2014.
