SAN DIEGO — Another day, another deal for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who agreed to trade outfielder Matt Kemp to division rival San Diego.

Kemp was part of a surplus of outfielders on the roster with the Dodgers, and the highest-paid of the bunch. Los Angeles will offset some of the cost for the Padres by paying at least $31 million of the remaining $107 million remaining on Kemp’s contract.

Los Angeles is to acquire catcher Yasmani Grandal, pitcher Joe Wieland and right-handed pitcher Zach Eflin for Kemp and catcher Tim Federowicz.

Kemp, 30, hit .287 with 25 home runs last season in a crowded outfield that included Andre Ethier, Yasiel Puig and and Carl Crawford. He was second in the MVP balloting to Ryan Braun of the Brewers in 2011 with 39 home runs, 40 steals and 126 RBIs.

New team president Andrew Friedman was busy in his first winter meetings with the Dodgers, and the Kemp deal was his 10th trade in two months on the job.

The Dodgers pulled off a seven-player trade with Miami, sending second baseman Dee Gordon, right-hander Dan Haren and infielder Miguel Rojas to the Marlins in exchange for left-handed pitching prospect Andrew Heaney, utility man Enrique Hernandez, right-handed reliever Chris Hatcher and catching prospect Austin Barnes.

The Dodgers then dealt Heaney to the Los Angeles Angels for second baseman Howie Kendrick.

A deal also was in place for the Dodgers to acquire shortstop Jimmy Rollins from the Philadelphia Phillies for two minor-leaguers, though it had not yet been made official. Rollins waived his no-trade rights in order to accept a deal from the rebuilding Phillies to the two-time defending National League West champions.

Free agent right-hander Brandon McCarthy also reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with the Dodgers.
