The Toronto Blue Jays have a deal in place to acquire left-hander David Price from the Detroit Tigers.

Armed with the No. 1 offense in the majors and days after bringing All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on board, the Blue Jays parted with their No. 1 prospect, left-handed pitcher Daniel Norris, to get a No. 1 starter to front their rotation.

Neither team immediately confirmed the trade, which can only become official after each side approves medical evaluations and Major League Baseball signs off.

Price said via Twitter on Thursday morning that he planned to take batting practice at Camden Yards at 2 p.m. ET.

Price is in the final year of his contract with the Tigers, who landed Price in a deadline deal with the Tampa Bay Rays in July 2014. He turns 30 next month.

Price has a 2.53 ERA in 21 starts this season and was 13-8 in 32 starts over parts of two seasons with the Tigers.
