The Chicago Cubs will host the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2015 major league season opener on Sunday night, April 5 to start the Joe Maddon era.

The game will mark the first Opening Night in Wrigley Field history and showcase the debut of Maddon as the Cubs’ new manager.

The game originally was scheduled for April 6 but was moved up to accommodate Major League Baseball’s Opening Night and a national television broadcast. The game is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. ET and air on ESPN2.

The Cubs announced Friday the remainder of the three-game series will be played on April 7 and 8, with April 9 as an off day.
