The Cleveland Indians and left-handed Bruce Chen have agreed on a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Chen will make $1 million if he makes the big-league club, according to CBSSports.com.
The veteran left-hander has spent the past six years with the Kansas City Royals. He struggled with a back injury last season and was released in September.
The Indians have a plethora of starting pitchers, including last season’s Cy Young Award winner, Corey Kluber.
Chen owns an 82-80 record with an ERA of 4.58 in a 10-year career.
