The Cincinnati Reds and third baseman Todd Frazier agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract, avoiding arbitration, the team confirmed Sunday night.
Frazier previously requested a $5.7 million for 2015 in arbitration. The team offered $3.9 million.
With the new contract, which covers Frazier’s first two years of arbitration eligibility, Frazier will earn $4.5 million this season and $7.5 million in 2016.
Frazier, 28, hit .273 with a .336 on-base percentage, a .459 slugging percentage, 29 homers and 80 RBIs last season. In four seasons with Cincinnati, he has a .258/.325/.451 hitting line with 73 homers and 235 RBIs in 476 games.
The Reds’ last pending arbitration case involves left-handed closer Aroldis Chapman.
