The Atlanta Braves activated catcher Evan Gattis from the 15-day disabled list and is in the lineup Monday night against the Miami Marlins.

Gattis was out since June 29 with a bulging disk in his lower back. He was batting .290 with 16 home runs and 39 RBIs in 63 games when he hurt his back on a swing. He went 3-for-16 in four rehab games with Triple-A Gwinnett.

To make room for Gattis on the 25-man roster, the club optioned catcher Christian Bethancourt to Gwinnett. Bethancourt started 13 of the 19 games Gattis missed. He batted .240 with a double and three RBIs, reaching base safely in 11 games.

Also, outfielder Justin Upton, who leads the team with 17 home runs, is in the lineup after leaving Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies with triceps tightness from getting hit by a pitch.

Fantasy Update: Get Gattis back in your lineup if you own him. He’s one of the best hitting catchers in all of baseball.
