The Atlanta Braves signed left-hander Wandy Rodriguez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, according to reports Tuesday.

The 35-year-old was ready to sign a contract with the Philadelphia Phillies several weeks ago, but the deal fell through after Rodriguez reportedly failed a physical.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that the deal with the Braves would be worth $2 million if Rodriguez makes the major league roster.

Because of injuries, Rodriguez made only six starts last year and 12 starts in 2013 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He posted a 0-2 record with a 6.75 ERA in 26 2/3 innings in 2014 and was 6-4 with a 3.59 ERA in 62 2/3 innings the previous year.

Rodriguez has a career 91-94 record with a 4.07 ERA. He won between 11 and 14 games from 2009 to 2012.
