Former major-league outfielder Andruw Jones was arrested early Christmas morning and charged with battery outside of Atlanta, according to a Capitol Avenue Club report.
Jones, 35, was arrested by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department shortly before 4 a.m. ET, though the reasons weren’t known.
A 17-year veteran, Jones spent the first 12 years of his career with the Atlanta Braves. He won 10 Gold Gloves and made five All-Star appearances.
After playing in 2011-12 with the New York Yankees as a backup outfielder, he signed earlier this month with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan’s Pacific League.
