Missouri starting defensive tackle Matt Hoch will have surgery to repair a broken ankle and will miss the remainder of spring practice for the Tigers.

Hoch, who started 13 games for the SEC East champion Tigers last year, should be healthy enough to play when Missouri opens its season against South Dakota State on Aug. 30.

Hoch compiled 41 tackles last season, including four tackles for loss and three sacks.
