Missouri defensive lineman Harold Brantley, who started 10 games for the Tigers last season, was seriously injured Sunday when the car he was driving flipped on U.S. Highway 63 in Columbia, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Patrol, Brantley, was with Missouri women’s basketball player Maddie Stock when the accident occurred. Neither Brantley nor Stock were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

Brantley was taken to University Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

Stock was treated and released.

The Kansas City Star reported that Brantley was driving a 2000 Chrysler Concorde that left the road and overturned after striking a guardrail.

Brantley earned honorable mention All SEC honors last season when he totaled 54 tackles and five sacks.
