Alabama coach Nick Saban said Monday that starting quarterback Blake Sims will be limited in practice this week as he deals with a bruised AC joint in his throwing shoulder.

The No. 3 Crimson Tide have a bye this week and return to action the following week when No. 1X Ole Miss comes to Tuscaloosa.

Saban didn’t seem too worried about his senior quarterback. “He’s fine,” Saban told the Tuscaloosa News before speaking to the Monday Morning Quarterback Club in Birmingham. “He’ll probably be a couple days where we take it easy.”

Sims injured his shoulder late in the third quarter of Saturday’s 42-21 win over Florida. In that game, Sims threw for the second-most yards in school history — 445 — and four touchdowns After missing part of a drive after being injured, Sims returned to throw his fourth touchdown pass of the day.
