The University of Washington’s presumptive starting quarterback, Cyler Miles, was reinstated from a suspension Wednesday.
However, coach Chris Petersen announced that another suspended player, wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow, plans to transfer to another school.
Petersen suspended the two players in early February, citing a violation of team rules. Both were tied to a string of assaults in Seattle on the night of the Seahawks’ Super Bowl win.
Stringfellow, who is heading into his sophomore season, entered guilty pleas to three misdemeanor gross charges. He received a sentence of five days on a work crew in addition to paying a fine and paying restitution.
Miles did not face criminal charges stemming from the incidents.
The school announced that neither Miles nor Stringfellow would comment publicly Wednesday.
Miles, a Colorado product heading into his redshirt sophomore season, played in eight games last season. He completed 37 of 61 passes for 418 yards with four touchdown passes and two interceptions. During his only start, in place of injured senior regular Keith Price, he led Washington to a 69-27 rout of Oregon State, going 15-for-24 for 162 yards with one TD pass and no interceptions.
With Miles out for spring practices, redshirt sophomore Jeff Lindquist and redshirt freshman Troy Williams manned the quarterback position. Neither has any college playing experience.
Stringfellow, a Southern California product, played 12 games last season and started the final three. He made 20 receptions for 259 yards and one touchdown.
