Washington junior cornerback Marcus Peters was dismissed from the program following a heated argument with an assistant coach during Wednesday’s practice.

Peters, who served a one-game suspension earlier in the 2014 season, is ranked the 13th overall prospect for the 2015 NFL Draft by nfldraftscout.com.

His previous suspension for the Illinois game was punishment for a sideline tirade during the Huskies game against Eastern Washington.

Peters is one of many talented juniors with character questions who could land in the NFL in the spring. He doesn’t have the national appeal of Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, Georgia running back Todd Gurley or suspended Oklahoma wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, but NFLDraftScout.com’s Rob Rang says the “cornerback possesses clear first-round traits … . length, ball skills and agility.”

Washington head coach Chris Peterson has yet to publicly comment on Peterson’s suspension.
