Southern Cal defensive end Leonard Williams was back a practice Wednesday after staying on the sidelines Tuesday with a lingering ankle injury.

The junior has anchored the Trojans’ defensive line as No. 9 USC has won its first two games. He has made 18 tackles and recorded one interception in those games.

“It actually feels better this week than it did last week before the Stanford game,” Williams told the Los Angeles Times. “Just running on it and being out there for the Stanford game kind of helped it out.”

Whether he thinks he will be healthy enough to play when USC takes on Boston College on Saturday, Williams said, “I guess.”

In Saturday’s win at Stanford, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Williams recorded 11 tackles despite playing with a sprained ankle.

Williams has been projected as a first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
