Florida State is still No. 1 in the Associated Press top 25, but there was significant movement in the poll a day after several upsets occurred.

Auburn, the only other team in last week’s top six to win, moved up three spots to No. 2 and travels to Mississippi State this week.

The Seminoles received 35 of 60 first place votes. The Tigers picked up 23 first-place votes.

Mississippi and Mississippi State tied for No. 3 in the poll, with Mississippi State getting the remaining two first-place votes. The Rebels and Bulldogs are in the top five together for the first time. Ole Miss upset Alabama while Mississippi State topped Texas A&M on Saturday.

—The Southeastern Conference announced it fined Mississippi $50,000 and Kentucky $25,000 because fans swarmed onto the field to celebrate victories on Saturday.

This is the third time Mississippi has been fined for having fans come onto the field after a game. It occurred against Mississippi State in 2012 and then LSU in 2013.

Kentucky was fined for similar violations in 2006 and 2007, but the Wildcats’ fine was less because their last offense occurred more than three years ago.

–Illinois starting quarterback Wes Lunt may be out for the rest of the season with a broken left leg.

Fighting Illini coach Tim Beckman said Lunt broke his left fibula during the 38-27 loss to Purdue and will be out four to six weeks. Beckman was optimistic the redshirt sophomore could return late in the season.

—Freshman defensive back Shaquille Jones was dismissed from the team Sunday, Georgia head coach Mark Richt said.

“We have certain expectations and standards that we require of all our players,” Richt said. “When those expectations and standards are not met, the opportunity to be a part of our program is sacrificed.”

He is the eighth defensive back lost by the Bulldogs in a span of nine months.
