One of Baylor’s leading receivers will be sidelined for at least three weeks after injuring his wrist in the Bears’ season opener

Levi Norwood will have surgery, according to the Waco Tribune-Herald. The Bears receiving corps is already thin with Antwan Godley, Corey Coleman and Clay Fuller ruled out of Saturday’s game against FCS Northwestern State.

Norwood accounted for eight touchdowns on 47 receptions last year. He was injured in Baylor’s 45-0 win over SMU on Sunday. Norwood had four receptions for only 26 yards.

Godley is the leading returning wide receiver for the Bears. He caught 71 passes for 1,339 yards and 13 touchdowns a year ago.

Coleman chipped in 35 receptions for 527 yards and two touchdowns, while Fuller had 32 catches for 512 yards and three touchdowns.

In addition, quarterback Bryce Petty is day-to-day with a back injury.
